Lineups to VOTE? Sleeping overnight outside your polling station? Pushing people to get to the ballot box first? Pre-order your ballot months in advance? Getting a family member to wait in line for you - so you can be first to vote? 42% did not VOTE
Pretty sad isn't it.

When listening to the radio, watching television or reading the newspapers about events in this province, there seems to be a missing link. One that bridges all that information together and provides a way for people to contribute, express or lobby their concerns in their own time. After-all, this is our home and everyone cannot fit in Lukie's boat and paddle their way to Upper Canada, nor should we!

It's all about the Economy Stupid!
Stephen Harper says to Canadians - the election is only about the economy.
Stephen Harper and the Conservatives found in contempt of Parliament - Harper says Canadians don't care about that. It's all about the economy!
Stephen Harper has lied and lied to provinces, interest groups, and individuals. Harper thinks Canadians don't care about this. It's all about the economy!
Cabinet Minister's caught lying - misleading - cheating. Harper says that's not what Canadians worry about. It's all about the economy!
Harper's office employs criminals - turns the RCMP upside down - and allows ethnic profiling for votes. Harper says Canadians do not consider this a priority. It's all about the economy!
Citizens of Canada are routinely thrown out of Harper election (public) events and routinely roughed up at G-8 - like a third world dictatorship. Harper says Canadians really don't mind these distractions. It's all about the economy!
Students at a University have a special ballot and Harper goons first try to stop it (apparently physically) and then protest the vote to Elections Canada - that coincidentally is the same body they ignore and then break the law with "unique" election financing. Harper believes these are not problems Canadians have to be concerned about. It's all about the economy!
An election is called and the first thing Harper establishes is a question limit per day for the media. He ignores the tenets of democracy and counts on - we - the people accepting this obvious display of dictatorship. It's all about the economy!
What do you honestly think this man might do with a majority? It's all about the economy!
Gutting of public service? - Probable
Gutting of universal health care? - Probable
Gutting of Canadian values? - Likely
Elimination of CBC? Right up on the list
Freedoms gone or twisted to suit his personal religious beliefs? I will predict that
Patronage appointments? Completely
Prisons and children? Full and build as you go - regardless of cost
Wars? Yes we will be shoulder to shoulder with the USA in all military conflicts
Americanization? Absolutely - they will essentially own us
Environment? What environment
There is a reason this extreme right-wing fanatic has been rejected by Canadians - there is a reason we have not given him a majority.

Good News the Government has not Told Us!
A Sim City like device to replace "roads for votes" come next election.
Some company out of Maryland - has this device thingy and apparently they are appointed to the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador to pick and choose the roads we pave and when.
This device is apparently off the shelf technology that will tell us which roads are old and which ones are too old and then if they need paving - votes or not.
So the trick will be for each party to infiltrate Sim Roads and make sure their districts get the potholes done. And if you have a bridge - well now...
1 August 2007: Exor Corporation formally announced its appointment to the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador to supply and implement a Road Network Management System (RNMS) for the Department of Transportation and Works (NLTW).
NLTW sought an enterprise wide road and asset inventory database system to ensure the ability to manage past and current road network based data between branches of the department. This mission critical system will eliminate the duplication of data silos within the organization. Exor’s RNMS will provide a shared data bank in which all departmental users can access one single source of true data.
The need to minimize development and maintenance costs of this business critical function drove a strategic decision at the DOT to purchase a modularised Commercial Off the Shelf System (COTS). This will ensure Newfoundland and Labrador adheres to the Canadian National Road Network standard, benefit from vendor led product development and reduce its ‘risk’ from natural staff turnover.
Exor will lead the comprehensive RNMS implementation project that will establish the road network and its associated inventory data within a relational database environment that includes a Geographical Information System (GIS) data and functionality. It will serve as a data integration platform (hub) to support multiple departmental applications for managing current and future road assets.
The RNMS will eventually be used to evaluate and prioritise work on the network, manage road condition and evaluate the lifecycle of assets. The initial phase of the implementation will establish a maintenance environment for the Newfoundland and Labrador Road Network (NLRN) and associated departmental road physical features inventory.
Cluney Mercer, Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Engineer at NLTW: “We’re delighted to have Exor working with us on this project to provide us with an integrated road network maintenance system. The department recognizes the strategic importance of optimising the whole of life cost of its transportation network assets, and we believe that the RNMS will provide a solid foundation to support current and planned asset management systems.”
The Department of Transportation and Works is responsible for the maintenance of over 9,500 kilometres of primary, secondary highway and community access roads. The department maintains over 850 bridges throughout the province.

I wonder if it will take over our power distribution next or maybe our water resource management or even oil and gas. I look forward to the next appointment. I don't know Cluney - you may be replaced by a Sim Assistant Deputy Minister.

I did not find a reference to this under the Government News Releases but EXOR released the following yesterday:
