Lineups to VOTE? Sleeping overnight outside your polling station? Pushing people to get to the ballot box first? Pre-order your ballot months in advance? Getting a family member to wait in line for you - so you can be first to vote? 42% did not VOTE

Pretty sad isn't it.

Sue, it is more than sad; it is pathetic! Does the lack of participation reflect the public's apathy or is it a reflection of a broken political system. When only 3 out of 10 eligible voters actually cast their ballot for the governing party, everybody should be concerned. Even politicans, especially the Opposition, ought to make public comments, and pledge to, at a minimum, look at some sort of electoral reform to try and motivate the reluctant masses.

We have just handed Ms. Dunderdale a handsome majority, based on 30% support from the electorate, and I am dismayed that people seem to be only mildly concerned. More disturbingly, the Muskrat Falls project may proceed on the basis on these small numbers. People like you and I count ourselves as strong opponents of this deal but does anything matter to the PC's with their 37 seats? Of course not! Besides, what does that matter when the House only sits a minimum number of days per year and would not sit at all if Ms. Dunderdale had her way? She sees it as an obstacle to her autocratic style of governing. Wonder who she learned that from? Also, why have we the electorate allowed ourselves to be hoodwinked by these people? It really bothers me that we allow ourselves to be led around like sheep!
