The warnings about this right wing zealot went unheeded by Canadians during the last election. The media did their part by allowing this deceptive operative (aka our Prime Minister) to only answer a limited number of questions per-day (prescribed by Harper).
Harper - flanked by weak Progressive Conservatives like Peter MacKay - is free to change the face of Canada. When Justin Trudeau actually showed some guts and took Harper on - the media or what they have become - focused on the dissimilarity of Justin to Pierre Elliott. How about what the young MP was talking about?
Trudeau knows that Canada is heading to a place the majority of us do not want to go. The small minority of right wing fundamentalists must not be allowed to destroy our country. Jim Flaherty our current Minister of Finance will continue with the Common Sense Revolution until he is permanently removed from any position of power. The comparison of Ontario to Greece - from an economic perspective - is not something that happened under the current Ontario administration. The mess in Ontario was started by Flaherty when a provincial Minister. Flaherty has a country under his feet because previous administrations regulated banking and our economic system in a manner that protected it. Flaherty will destroy it.
Let's fully understand the danger we are facing.
1. Spying on Canadians by a police force the PM seems to want to control.
2. In total contrast to number 1 where the PM says the government should have such controls - the same man eliminates the gun registry so as NOT to control law fearing Canadians.
3. Use the armed forces personnel to do searches on political opponents.
4. Control the media through a fundamental shift of access.
5. Election spending laws - who cares? PM does not!
6. Robotic calls forging the identity of the Elections Office
7. Eliminate public funding for elections to diminish opposition chances at election.
8. Lying to parliament.
9. Preparing to dismantle universal health care.
10. Taking money from Seniors.
This is a short list of the regime we have democratically elected.
Let me predict that if this PM feels there is any possibility that his chances of re-election are slim - he may very well proceed in making changes to the elections laws.
Young Justin Trudeau - sounded a real alarm and I expect the NDP, Liberal, and Green Parties to fight this government with everything they have. If they are not up to it - move over and let the young MP's do what is necessary to save this country.
It's no longer funny to be living in a Harper State.
When listening to the radio, watching television or reading the newspapers about events in this province, there seems to be a missing link. One that bridges all that information together and provides a way for people to contribute, express or lobby their concerns in their own time. After-all, this is our home and everyone cannot fit in Lukie's boat and paddle their way to Upper Canada, nor should we!

Sack of Shit! CBC's Mansbridge drops the real ball!
Sack of Shit - Sack of Shit - Sack of Shit.
Attention Peter Mansbridge - Sue has sunk to a new low on her blog.
What kind of tripe was CBC's anchor getting on with last night - when he read, repeated, or uttered that Justin Trudeau was responsible for the House of Commons reaching a "new low" because he called Canada's Minister of "Environment" a sack of Shit.
What a joke that was - how much do we pay for Peter Mansbridge - I want to know? How much are we paying for that ridiculous nonsense?
Peter - I could care less who calls any MP a sack of shit - I am concerned that we pulled out of Kyoto.
That is the story - the only story.
As for the HOC reaching a new low - Mansbridge should check his memory. Bev ODA - that is a new low, or how about Peter MacKay and his fishing trip to Gander - that is a new low. How about election financing or that our Prime Minister Stephen Harper is a bold-faced liar?
Whatever Mansbridge was on - heightened morality - or pretense of Mr. Diplomacy - I don't want to pay for it. Tell me Peter what will the future of CBC look like with a continued Harper? Do you give a damn or do your retirement plans match with that of Michael Duffy?
Fuddle Duddle!

Can you lie, cheat, break the law or simply be a traitor? Harper needs you!
Short and not-so-sweet overview of Harper's judgement of character Canada. (small sample)
Can you lie? - Harper needs you!
Can you cheat? Harper needs you!
Can you break the law? Harper needs you!
Are you a traitor to your province, your people, your country? Harper needs you!
Fabian Manning applauds Stephen Harper as he broke his promise (lied to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador) ends up in Senate after ABC campaign - now looking to be re-elected in NL - says he wants to look to the future.
Can you lie? - Harper needs you!
Ms. Oda lied about the decision not to renew funding for Kairos by repeatedly claiming it was a decision of the Canadian International Development Agency.
Can you cheat? Harper needs you!
A top Tory strategist has left the Harper campaign after a media mogul outed him for supplying false information.
Can you break the law? Harper needs you!
Elections Canada has laid charges against the federal Conservative Party and four senior officials for exceeding the spending limit in the 2006 election campaign.

Majority Must - Harper says Canada must Adapt to Me!
I presume you have been listening to the frenzied call for a majority by Stephen Harper to Canada and Canadians.
He says things like stability and security - in his efforts to frighten Canadians away from their own democracy.
Twice now we have had a stable and secure parliament as elected by Canadians. Our free democratic choice at the polls. Is Harper suggesting that we were wrong? Is he saying Canadians are stupid and he will keep folding parliament either directly or indirectly until Canadians get it right?
Stephen Harper must understand that he and all other MP's and political parties must work within the numbers Canadians elect. If that is a minority - then the governing party must work with all MP's to find compromise that reflects the ideologies properly and legally elected by people of this Country.
If Harper and company receive a minority - then he must work with all MP's to find a balanced way through for our people. If not - a coalition must be sought within parliament and they must work to find that balance. That has been the will of our people in the past two elections. Stephen Harper does not accept our elected choices. Stephen Harper is saying to Canadians - I am only willing to make parliament work if you give me a majority.
Stephen Harper is like an American fish out of water in Canadian politics and he would like the Country to adapt to him. That is the arrogance of this man - and also the danger he presents to our nation.
Stephen Harper will not accept that you and I will vote NDP, Liberal, Green, or Bloc. He will tell us that we are going to destruct if we continue with minorities, coalitions, or other parliamentry arrangements.
What makes all of this worse is that he lies over and over and will continue to do so - to get and retain power. He will eliminate unacceptable Canadians from his public election events after an "electoral background check" is done on citizens of this country.
He will take one of the cornerstones of a mature democracy - the media - and control them also - with question limits and physical accessability to him. This is what he sends our military to fight against in other countries.
The most disingenuous rendition of lyrics I have ever heard - is this man singing "Imagine". I do not believe John Lennon could have found anyone so polar opposite to himself and no doubt would cringe that Harper would sing this song in yet another lie to gain majority control of Canada.
If Stephen Harper will not accept your choices on election day - do the right thing this time and tell him to move on.
Note on the Lennon performance by Harper. Lenono music has now claimed copyright and has removed the video from youtube. Happy to see that - but the Conservatives and Harper used it to alter image yet again.

Distractions, Games, and Double Standards "Throw Them Out of Office"
Two quick items this morning - that really demonstrate the state of our democracy and governments.
After having been found violating the freedoms and privileges including Bev Oda breaching parliamentary privilege when she provided inconsistent testimony to a Common committee of the House of Commons - the Federal Conservatives - currently our government - claims that these things are just "distractions and games". The Conservatives say instead we have to focus on the economy and jobs.
Let me explain it from this voter's point of view.
Why would I let anybody who has such blatant disregard for the democracy we live in and the rules that separate us from other countries run by despots and social thieves - run the economy? If they do not believe in the truth and do not believe in transparency - why would I believe they will tell me the truth on the economy? In fact I feel exactly the opposite - I believe that they are likely not to tell me the truth on the state of our economy and I believe they are likely to lie or provided misleading information on what they plan to do with the economy.
The extreme right wingers like Harper would have us believe that government needs to get out of our lives as much as possible - yet not only are they in our lives, they are manipulating the truth and not providing us with information on how they plan to spend our tax dollars.
As a Newfoundlander and Labradorian - I can say first hand that Prime Minister Harper lied directly to us when trying to get his government elected to parliament in 2006. That ended up costing our province billions of dollars. Further his MP's like Fabian Manning went against the people he was elected to represent. Manning is now a Senator (unelected) also against Harper's "promises for change".
The next item deals with a story out of the Telegram this weekend.
Canada Revenue highlights $1,000 victory
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) released a reminder on filing annual tax returns this week, citing a court case from the west coast of Newfoundland as an example of why not to skip out.
In that case, a resident of Daniel’s Harbour was fined $1,000 after she pleaded guilty to one count under the Income Tax Act, for failing to file her personal income tax return for 2008.
This was the biggest federal agency joke I have ever seen.
Does the rest of Canada remember this story? Excerpts from the Globe and Mail
Former prime minister Brian Mulroney, who received $300,000 in cash from German-Canadian deal maker Karlheinz Schreiber in 1993 and 1994, did not pay taxes on the payments in the years he received the money.
The former prime minister filed a voluntary tax disclosure some time later, The Globe and Mail and CBC's the fifth estate have learned, an option that the Canada Revenue Agency offers for people who have previously filed inaccurate returns and subsequently decide to correct the record. Mr. Mulroney had declined to say when he paid taxes on the cash Mr. Schreiber handed over to him in hotels in Montreal and New York over a 19-month period.
A letter received late last night from an intermediary of Mr. Mulroney's explained that the former prime minister was delayed in paying his taxes because of the “cataclysmic event” that disrupted his life in November, 1995 – the RCMP letter to the government of Switzerland that falsely accused him of a crime.
“As such, it is understandable that until all these matters were resolved – as they eventually were with his total vindication – he could not resume normal functioning and attend to normal day-to-day affairs … and indeed to the point of the finalization of his tax matters with his accountants,” the letter said.
Two of the cash payments given to Mr. Mulroney by Mr. Schreiber, totalling $200,000, were made in 1993. The taxes owing on those payments would have been due by May 2, 1994, 18 months before Mr. Mulroney discovered that the RCMP was investigating him.
The taxes owing on the final $100,000 payment from 1994 would have been due on May 1, 1995, six months before Mr. Mulroney learned about the RCMP investigation.
The response last night said: “He complied with all prevailing Canadian tax law and was entitled to do so in any way he chose and was to his best interest. He – like all of us – is entitled to do so.”
Clearly this example shows the difference between and average Canadians and those privileged to sit in Parliament.
Distractions and games indeed - time for Canadians to stop the games and rid themselves of distractions. Throw Stephen Harper and his players out!
