Today is gearing up to be a very interesting day.
For those of you who heard Paddy Daly today on Back-Talk - did you hear his conversation with Doug Stanley, an independent pharmacy owner in Burin. Somewhere in that conversation Paddy asked Doug - do you think the problem with getting a meeting with the Minister is personal - with one of your members or somebody who represents you?
Interesting question don't you think - where did that come from. Do tell Paddy.
Earlier today a member of the CICPO asked me if a meeting was denied because I was the Executive Director of the group. Apparently he had been speaking to a representative of another group who suggested this was the case. That follows many other instances out of this group - raising the same question. Interesting point.
Further I have been subject to Ministers and the Premier herself allegedly telling members of the CICPO that - in a round-a-bout way - you should get rid of her. Even gone as far to ask me to remove my blog or make me stop blogging.
I remember another Executive Director under the same threats. I remember Rob Ritter of the NLMA being lambasted by the Premier and Minister with his professionalism under attack.
We know Premier - if you do not agree with government and you speak out - you will be targeted and they will attempt to shut you up. Just imagine this - and imagine that it is acceptable behavior in a mature democracy.
Then there's another Minister directing pharmacy owners to stay off the airways and get to the table. And yet another member who spoke out against a government policy in the past - was chastised - once again behind his back by another Minister.
There are many more examples but this should suffice - to prove our democracy is under attack by Dunderdale and gang. Bullying is not only acceptable to them but is encouraged and used on a day to day basis.
How many people have put a PC sign on their lawn out of fear?

It's the culture we have lived in for the last 8 years.
Sue: I remember you being run out of town/shut up a few years ago for having told the truth and I do believe it was all about the privatization of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro Corporation.
You, also spoke out clear and succinct on the many other wrongdoings that were perpetrated on us by our provincial government in the past, and you were shut down by those in the Government and the Media for doing so.
We know the Media, in the past, was always in the pocket of the ruling party, in that they kept matters very opaque and out of the print, I hear they operate no different today.
We have had the wool pulled over our eyes many times in our province by both of these entities on what was coming down the chute with the development of our natural resources and that is what we are trying to prevent from being repeated through communicating on your blog.
It is hard to believe our government won't listen to its electorate and they want to shut down your blog. They only do what is right for their pocket books and not for their province and their electorate which elected them, despite the fact they told us before they were elected they would be different and do what was right for us. They even grumbled over how things were managed in the past, we thought they were genuine and now they are conducting matters as past governments did.
If the rumour is, indeed, true that our provincial government wants you to be run out of town, well then it is time for us, the electorate, to run them out of town. I cannot believe successive governments in this province play this trick over and over. We need to shut them down immediately because we are having the Muskrat Falls Contract pushed down our throats right in front of our very eyes and we are helpless in doing anything about it other than speaking up and being ignored.
Governments have been very corrupt in this province and it seems this government is no different, despite the fact they are aware of our feelings on being anti-Muskrat Falls because it has no benefits for the people, and we don't want that development started until the time is ripe for our province and our people to benefit from it.
Whatever happened to Ursula Dowler?
