Due to the significance of a development such as the Lower Churchill - I hereby request a debate with you on the deal your government proposes.
As a citizen of Newfoundland and Labrador - and an individual who has spent over 20 years researching, debating, and writing on renewable energy in the province and as an individual involved in the prevention of the privatization of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro - I ask that you grant and facilitate my reasonable request.
We cannot afford to ruin the future for another 3 generations of our people.
Sincerely,
Sue

Sue - I Second Your Request and I hope that our government today is not as unbending and corrupt as it was in the past that saw our natural resources all exported off to mainland Canada to create economies and wealth.
Premier Dunderdale if you read this blog it would be wise if you grant that request by Sue for a debate, it is not an unreasonable request. That is what happens in any reasonable democratic government, matters are debated, not only amongst the politicians and bureaucrats but also with the electorate, especially when it is perceived that the proposed contract will bring no better economics to our province than the awful Upper Churchill Contract, and that it will add a great amount of stress to our debt issues.
If you fail to grant this request Premier Dunderdale and this deal goes through and proves to be what the people are predicting, well then I am afraid you will have to suffer the same consequences as our politicians of the past are finding out and dealing with now regarding all the bad deals that they signed off on our resources in the past.
Premier Dunderdale you must still hear people talking posthumously about former Premier Joey Smallwood signing off on the very bad Upper Churchill Contract and that contract happened in a time when people were not aware and were not demanding that a debate be held simply because, we as Newfoundlanders and Labradorians had no idea hardly that it was being signed off on. There was very little media coverage on that contract in Newfoundland and Labrador, to my knowledge. We are a much more astute people now than we were then and we are advising you that a debate needs to be held, so please do not ignore the people's desire.
We, Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have already suffered tremendously from the lack of economics created from the development of all of our natural resources to date, simply because corrupt politicians took it on themselves to give it all away to other parts of Canada.
The great economic footprint that was created from the province of Newfoundland and Labrador naturals resource base is evident all over Canada, except for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, although it is not evident in the minds of Canadians where the raw resources for a lot of their economic well-being comes from, they are as unaware as we Newfoundlanders and Labradorians were in the past. You can blame that on the lack of transparency.
Please don't be a hothead Premier Dunderdale do what is democratically right for your people and your province, and you will fare well in the end.
She will not debate Sue. Why not you ask? Simple, just look to the only honest politician that ever lived for the answer.
