Dunderdale celebrates Women (certain women) - two sides of the Premier's Mouth

"Premier Kathy Dunderdale says women have come a long way in the province. She was addressing women business leaders in the province Monday morning. Dunderdale told members of NLOWE a woman's status has come a long way in Newfoundland Labrador, from being unable to vote until 1925 to now having its first female Premier."

Above is a segment from a VOCM story today.

The only question I have for Kathy Dunderdale - what year can a woman expect to have the right to political beliefs and freedom of expression of thought and free speech - without another woman (premier) or her colleagues attempting to shut them up?

Kathy - there are strong women in this province and as long as they follow you - agree with everything you do - agree with everything you say - they will be celebrated or patronized by you. If a strong woman has an opinion different than yours - or if she believes that actions you and your government are taking will impair the future of our children - you do not support her right to that open debate and discussion.

Do not speak out of two sides of your mouth and do not say one thing and do another and expect any respect from the electorate you wish to represent. You do not celebrate women - you celebrate women who support you. That is not liberation - it is petty partisan behavior that does more to eliminate those rights - that others fought so hard to secure and protect.

Lest we Forget.

I can guarantee you that when I make comments and critique your policies - it is based on years of research and factual material. Let me remind you - this Lower Churchill proposed development that you and Ed Martin are so keen to push at any opportunity - is being done through Nalcor - that fabulous company saved by people like me - who fought for three years to protect it from privatization (no charge). I would be happy to debate you on this issue anytime - anywhere - in public where people can assess the arguments we present and the positions we hold.

Sue, she'd be like Vaughn Granter. She wouldn't show up.

"A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water".
~~Eleanor Roosevelt~~

This is one debate I wouldn't want to miss.

An aside , Ed Martin told a meeting of NOIA that this Muskrat Falls project will not only make the Atlantic provinces stronger , but, the whole country .

And all this province and its people have to do is carry the crippling debt for a generation (30-35 years).

Would Ed Martin take this "stronger Atlantic provinces , stronger country" rhetoric to the investment bankers , or is that motherhood and apple pie drivel reserved for the "gullible" folks of this province ?

Have a look at the latest post - read it carefully and spread it everywhere. We all need to step up to the plate before it is too late.
