Loyola Hearn and Clerical Errors

Hey Loyola - any chance you can find us some clerical errors?

Congratulations to Loyola Hearn for gaining back a significant fishing area for PEI fishermen.
Any chance he can find some lost fish for Newfoundland and Labrador?

MacLeod’s Ledge back in the hands of local fishermen

Below is an excerpt from a story in the PEI Guardian

“Area 24 fishermen have been fishing there for over a 100 years,” said Craig Avery, president of the Western Gulf Fishermen’s Association in a telephone interview with the Guardian Friday night.

“Because (of) a clerical error in 1985 it was put into (area 22) which is the Magdalen Islands, Quebec.”

No fishermen from the Magdalen Islands have ever come that far to fish MacLeod’s Ledge, said Avery.

In 2002, the federal Fisheries department told Islanders to get out and stay out of MacLeod’s Ledge, but after some negotiation, a special conditional licence was created to allow Islanders to fish there upon application.

I wonder Loyola - did DFO ever give any shrimp - traditionally harvested in Newfoundland and Labrador - to PEI fishermen? Any chance you can fix that clerical error? Any Chance we can get our ledge looked after (the nose and tail of the Grand Banks and Flemish Cap) ?
