I'm with you in demanding that we see the Custodial Management promise kept.
As for ACOA, I think every Newfoundlander and Labradorian who is sick of federal interferrence and who believes in some measure of independence should applaud any ACOA cut, provided that the money saved goes into reducing business taxes here. Scrap it, along with its sister agencies, let NL businesses that currently suffer under too much tax and red tape have a chance to hire more people.
Just as soon as the feds remove that type of support in Quebec and Ontario we can eliminate ACOA. It's not going to happen Liam. We therefore should expect the amount of funding to remain stable if not increased. Further Harper reduced tax and then informed the provinces that they have more tax room for themselves. That was a joke. Also do not fool people by giving them gas tax in one hand and taking similar funding away (ACOA) with the other.
