If one were to watch the news yesterday - they would get the distinct impression that Danny was coming back.
The amount of media the former Premier garnered yesterday was enviable. Many worthwhile groups would love to have even one tenth of the immediate pandering the local news gives to Williams.
1. He changed the name of his development to honour his mother. Lovely (Happy Mother's Day) - not news.
2. He thinks Bill Barry is not fit for office of the Premier. Marvelous (Coffee chat) not news.
3. "Bullshit" - Danny says to the Conference Board of Canada's report on our projected population numbers. Brilliant (conspiracy theory) not news.
News: Former Premier refuses to take his own advice and shut-up after he leaves politics.
News: Williams gets sweetheart land deal - unheard of price and quick rule changes.
News: Williams believes only he can be Premier - so he's going to run again.
News: Williams believes Dunderdale failed. (then again that would be his failure as well)
There is news in the Danny's successful attempt at getting attention yesterday.
On an editorial note: who is deciding what's worth covering?
Right now there are journalists holding their breath - waiting for Danny to pick his favorite for leader. You can bet that will surpass the importance of any other story on the day that shoe drops.
