Talk with Sue - Special Guest next week - Former Premier Roger Grimes
Many things have happened over the past year - not the least of which is the resignation of the first woman to be elected Premier of our Province. She resigned last week - suddenly and without much notice - and hers was a majority government.
Muskrat Falls debate rages on.
Bill 29
The Liberal and Tory leadership races.
New Premier Tom Marshall.
The resignation of Jerome Kennedy.
Natural resource development.
Budgetary issues. Debt and deficits and the unfunded pension liabilities
Health Care
Auditor General's Report
The massive change in political polling results.
The defection of sitting MHA's.
The state of the NDP and ruling Tories.
The changing tide for the Liberals.
The new Liberal leader.
As we get settled in to 2014 - what's in store for us?
Roger Grimes has agreed to talk about it all - a perspective from a man who once held the top job and the responsibility of the office.
This will be two hours of fascinating discussion that you won't want to miss.
Tuesday - February 4th from 6-8 on the Island and from 5:30 to 7:30 in most of Labrador the former Premier will be my special guest - live on Talk with Sue.
You can join the show live and enter the chat room - where you can pose some questions.
When listening to the radio, watching television or reading the newspapers about events in this province, there seems to be a missing link. One that bridges all that information together and provides a way for people to contribute, express or lobby their concerns in their own time. After-all, this is our home and everyone cannot fit in Lukie's boat and paddle their way to Upper Canada, nor should we!

Roger Grimes was a strong opponent of Muskrat Falls early on and I would like to know his stance on it at this juncture.
I am bothered by the easy acquisition of most politicians to the commonly-held view that it is now at a stage where it cannot be stopped. In my opinion, nothing could be further from the truth.
The fact remains that it will turn out to be a horrible financial deal for the province and should be halted until further notice. Then, if they want to proceed, following a full, open and candid review, so be it. Right now, there remain multiple unanswered questions that may yet see this project costing well in excess of 10 billion dollars. How anyone can say it is unstoppable, after the expenditure of 1-2 billion, is totally beyond me, given the long term negative impact this project will have on ordinary people.
Mr. Grimes, what is your take on this tendency of politicians to fall in line with political double-speak when, from my perspective, we need people to stand on principle more than ever?
Sue, please put this question to Mr. Grimes, as I am working and living in Alberta at present but have a deep and abiding interest in my home province.
Hi Cyril,
I will put that question to him and on that idea - I agree with you.
The news over the past day is that Premier Marshall is asking for a Review on Bill 29. Sue I don't want a Review, since that's going to cost us thousands of dollars more of money the government doesn't have to waste, that will go into the pockets of friends of the government. For sure the government leaders will appoint people who are close to them to do the Review.
I want a Repeal of Bill 29. We, the electorate, are all unaminous on that aspect except, of course, for the few government members of the ruling party who brought it into effect to provide secrecy for the Muskrat Falls Contract and whatever other bad decisions that were made by them that needed an umbrella.
I wonder what former Premier Roger Grimes would do if the electorate was calling for a Repeal of a Bill under his watch, such as Bill 29 that was enacted, no doubt, to cover-up certain government dealings that they didn't want privy to the electorate's eyes.
I would appreciate you asking Mr. Grimes that question.
Will be happy to.
