Has SNC Lavalin got Muskrat by the Tail?

On the heels of more bribery and corruption allegations against SNC-Lavalin and particularly as related to design and management of "mega projects" - it is unconscionable and frankly stupid not to get complete information on the Muskrat Falls project.

I no longer care about "proprietary information" - I care as a shareholder and as a ratepayer.

The project should be stopped - and each and every component of the deal between Emera and Nalcor needs to be examined. Further SNC Lavalin's role in the project should be audited completely.

We need to know if the code "PCC" or "CC" exist as it relates to the Muskrat deal.

This Quebec company - is rotting from the outside in - and we do not need additional history of rot in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Kathy Dunderdale and Co. have shown they can be inept in matters of law and contracts and we must not let another 3 generations of our people suffer the consequences of either corruption or incompetence.

I need to know that public officials cannot and have not been bribed. I need to know who specifically is becoming rich on this project. I need to know who is driving it.

As yet another set of polls (the British Columbia election) goes up in smoke - nothing has convinced me that people in our province want or believe in this project.

Has the ambidextrous octopus swallowed the Cabinet?

If protective action is not taken here to assure everything is on the straight and narrow, given the information we have on alleged corruption surrounding the engineering company in question, then we will have no one to blame but those politicians and bureaucrats, who negotiated the Muskrat Falls Contract on behalf of the unsuspecting, kept in the dark hydro-electric consumers/taxpayers of Newfoundland and Labrador, who will be on the hook for paying the mortgage on this monstrosity known as Muskrat Falls. If those Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who were in on the negotiations of the Muskrat Falls Contract don't do something about fixing it, we cannot expect the Corporation who is allegedly involved in all kinds of fraudulent schemes to come forward and say they are going to adjust the contract(s) they have negotiated within the Muskrat Falls Contract. Somebody from the Newfoundland and Labrador Government side needs to come forward and initiate actions to assure that we won't be paying for fraudulent schemes, as we have heard of that occurred in Quebec through its Anti-Corruption Squad and alleged frauds from other parts of the World.

An article contained in the url address below on CBC's Electronic News site today states that, "SNC-Lavalin International used secret code for 'bribery' payments- Budget documents show widespread use of 'consultancy cost' code"

I believe there is corruption in awarding the contracts however I do not believe we have a system which can ferret it out. Knowing and proving a two different things.

When or if all of this eventually comes to public view there will be no way to prosecute wrong doings. The current and former crop of politicians responsible for all of this will have moved on. Appointed to various positions, judgeships, Senators and various other political pork.

It's all so frustrating to have to watch.

Perhaps the most frustrating of all to watch though is the way the " traditional" press is sleeping its way through all of this . No digging taking placed from it. No in depth analysis.

So sad!
