Putting the Twit in Twitter - Premier decides to Debate with Opposition online!

The last couple of days the media focus has been on the Twitter debate between Premier Kathy Dunderdale and the Leader of the Opposition, Yvonne Jones.

Now if the media - upon learning about this ridiculous event - had parked themselves wherever the Premier is - to interrogate our Premier about this lowest of lows - I would finally have some peace. But no - the media is repeating the Twitter feed and making yet another joke about a matter which is clearly not laughable.

The newly minted Premier will not open the House of Assembly despite the looming Muskrat Falls disaster. The newly minted Premier will not debate the deal with Emera to giveaway yet another tremendous renewable resource. The newly minted Premier is instead going to debate this 6 billion dollar mistake on Twitter.

First the Opposition must take a stand - a real stand. Get out there and fight for the voice of the people. Do whatever is necessary to demand the opening the House. This is where the people get to kick the tires of a "government in waiting". This is where we separate the real peoples representatives from the self-serving twits.

Second - the media must wake up, grow up, and do what is necessary to get from the Premiers mouth what she is doing or thinks she's doing with this farcical display. The people in this province have given up on politics, politicians, the future, and the media. The people of this province deserve much more than this.

Putting the twit in Twitter has just taken on a new meaning and it is not very palatable.

When are the Media going to take a real stand on this Muskrat Falls impending disaster?

Up to this point they have been very luke warm in their criticism of this impending disaster.

If they continue their non-critical stance on matters, like they have for our entire existence on matters concerning the development of our natural resource base, where some other place always ends up to be the primary beneficiar and ends up with the vibrant economy from them, our province will forever be the Cinderella of the Federation of the Canadian Provinces.

Our Media and our electorate will have to take a stand together to stop Muskrat Falls from putting the final nail in the coffin of Newfoundland and Labrador

So please LOCAL MEDIA do the right thing and put a stop to this ourtageous expensive contract with no benefits for our province, that will make Nova Scotia the beneficiary. A Message for the Media: if you forever think about your own bottom line, you will subject the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and its people to a province and people with no worthwhile economy forever.
