No big Deal Muskrat! So Cochrane and Dunderdale keep telling is.

The "journalists" are having a field day - downplaying the importance of Muskrat Falls to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The panel contestants are saying it's not even on the radar.

Funny thing that - it has been a constant issue on the talk shows, a continuing paper seller for the Telegram, and something Dunderdale insists is not an issue.

If health, education, and deficits are key - I don't know why the Telegram has been inundated with letters to the editor on Muskrat Falls.

These letters coming from people with affiliation to all party stripes and those without a vested interest in its failure as a deal.

Yes we have seen health issues raised but they are by professional organizations representing health care workers.

We have heard education raised by students and teachers organizations.

The public - at least those who care about the future of this place - have been raising Muskrat Falls. Look at the weekend and tell me what the top issue is - in the minds of those who wish to write. Ed Martin CEO Nalcor has been busier than the Cabinet Ministers answering questions about Muskrat Falls. Randy had Shawn Skinner on for a show, followed by Aylward and Michael on what? Muskrat Falls.

Despite Dunderdales protestations - Muskrat has been coming up at the door for most candidates.

Most importantly - what issue will still be around after the election? Muskrat Falls!

This is why Dave Cochrane can groan on like a boy with a belly-ache over Muskrat Falls not being an issue. Yet day after day all the "journalists" and Dunderdale keep telling us it's not an issue.

Ms Dunderdale is dismissing any negative talk about Muskrat Falls for obvious reasons. She doesn't want to have the idea gain any traction on her campaign stops so she is ignoring it when people attempt to bring it up.

What is David Cochrane's excuse? Is he so out of touch that he cannt see any opposition to this deal? If so, what planet is he living on?

Sue I have a sinking feeling this morning about our province and the Corruption surrounding the give away of the people's resource.

I thought after the Upper Churchill debacle and all the economic pain that have come to past because of that horrible contract, our present and future politicians and bureaucrats would learn something from it, but "NO" they haven't, they are controlled by what the Centralist Ottawa Government wants, even though they don't have a noose around their necks to do the Muskrat Falls deal, they just a carrot dangled in front of their eyes of political plums for the future, just as the politicians of the past were and they are hell bent on getting their personal piece of the pie out of it just because they were in power during the negotiation process.

They are leaving our province and our people whose province has the second highest GDP statistic in Canada with the irony of having nothing else to show for it than the biggest debt per capita of any province in Canada. Very little will be accrued out of this project for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador other than the jobs to construct the project. How do we stop this Corruption?

Sue, it is clear that this will be a protracted fight if the Tories win. I would suspect they will win easily only if 50% or so of eligible voters get out and cast their ballots. This brings up 2 things - electoral reform and Muskrat Falls. I want online voting and the elimination of the "first past the post" format we now have. In that regard, the sceond issue, Muskrat Falls, would be so much harder to ram down our throats if we had electoral reform.

However, if the Tories do win, I am advocating for the formation of a "Stop Muskrat Falls" coalition and would like to see you and others with real knowledge of the whole issue, including the Upper Churchill, taking on a leadership role. That doesn't mean a dictatorial process, like we often get in political parties, but a grassroots organization to mobilize a non-partisan opposition.

Cyril Rogers, I am so happy that someone will advocate for a "Stop Muskrat Falls" Coalition!

Will you be the one to start this Movement? I hope so. I have been following your commentary for the past month or so and you make a great deal of sense on the Muskrat Falls Project. I am 100% against it at this point in bad economic times and I am 100% against it in its present format, especially the fact it doesn't have an escalator clause on the Emera portion of the contract.

I will look forward to this type of intervention if Ms. Dunderdale wins the race.

The voters of this province are more intellegent then mainland Canada gives them credit for.

I believe the voters of this province will not elect a PC Dunderdale Government to take any kind of a risk for her to more then double their Light Bills.

I suggest they vote ABC this time.
