Elderly abuse comes in all forms - but one of the most troubling areas is the loss of rights. The choices that many of us take for granted. Over the next week - Sue's Blog is going to take on a particular issue relative to the seniors of our province - and what happens as they enter into personal care homes.
We will explore a seniors loss of right to choose a health care professional and decisions that they are forced to make when moving into some of these homes. When they are offered no choice but to accept that which you and I have free choice over.
The format will not be opinionated but one of fact - and very disturbing to the individuals and families involved.
Sue's Blog will take you inside (virtually) and show you how big national publicly traded companies are controlling markets and thereby controlling the choices of seniors.

What will our government do? What have they done? What is it costing our healthcare?

Sue I have been of the opinion now, ever since I became aware of the opaque way our government, both levels have conducted business that it was the result of our politicians, bureaucrats and those entrepreneurs that our politicians have made rich through contracts from Taxpayers dollars who are to blame for Newfoundland and Labrador's failure to thrive.
They toe the line for what is going to make them rich not the people who they represent. It is nothing short of CORRUPT! For instance what is up with Kitwit dropping its bid on the $34 Billion Dollars Shipbuilding? Was that something they were convinced to do by Ottawa because Ottawa wanted those contracts to go to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to pad those provinces with more industry? Why aren't our provincial politicians asking more questions, is it because they want that crazy loan guarantee for the Muskrat Falls that will only serve to put our province and its people further in debt, but will probably enhance the Treasuries of a few politicians both ex and present and their bureaucrats with Millions of dollars from the construction of that project? The Muskrat Falls Project needs to be put on hold until things are sorted out.
Why haven't our politicians brought the sad state of our Fishery to the light of day? That is an industry that can trump all other industries in this province if it were looked after properly.
I contend that those people who have made it rich from us are our own worse enemies. All they worry about is getting the next contract from government and to hell with the poor people who had put faith in electing them, thinking that they were honest individuals and were doing what was right for them. All the while the poor electorate themselves waited with baited breath thinking a good economy was just around the corner. They held on and eke out a subsistence living here despite their province's vast resource base, which our rulers and bureaucrats gave away to benefit the economies of the other provinces. Our politicians and bureaucrats were a bunch of sleeve-ins and they deserve to be brought to justice for all the pain they have caused our people and our province.
Given our rich natural resource base and great location there is no way that the province of Newfoundland and Labrador should have veered off course in creating a vibrant economy here in this beautiful province, but it did.
OUR AWFUL ECONOMY WAS CREATED BY OUR POLITICIANS, BUREAUCRATS AND BUSINESS OWNERS, WHO MADE IT BIG IN OUR PROVINCE FROM OUR TAXPAYERS DOLLARS AND THEN MADE IT BIG ON THE CANADIAN SCENE. THEY THEN SHAFTED US NEWFOUNDLANDERS AND LABRADORIANS IN DECIDING TO TOE THE LINE FOR WHAT OTTAWA WANTED. SHAME ON THEM THEY ALL SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE FOR WHAT THEY DID. IT IS AS PLAIN AS THE NOSE ON OUR FACE.
LET US ROOT THEM OUT OF THE MIRE AND EXPOSE THEM FOR WHAT THEY ARE, THE MURDOCHS OF THE WORLD.
