When listening to the radio, watching television or reading the newspapers about events in this province, there seems to be a missing link. One that bridges all that information together and provides a way for people to contribute, express or lobby their concerns in their own time. After-all, this is our home and everyone cannot fit in Lukie's boat and paddle their way to Upper Canada, nor should we!
Yes Sue, how stun/stupid are we in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador? We must have those distasteful words written all over our foreheads.
Here this man was appointed to the Senate in spite of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians wishes by Stephen Harper and now, no doubt, he must have been offered something else from the Patronage Tool Kit that is at least equal to or greater than what his Senate seat remunerations are, should he run in the upcoming Federal Election representing St. John's West and not get elected.
How many times do we have to be shafted by our governments?
It is as plain as the nose on our faces how corrupt the Canadian political system is, then why is that we are allowing this system to stay in being without revising and upgrading it to an honest standard? Is it any wonder that crime is escalating in Canada the way that it has over the past few years given the knowledge, by the potential criminals, that if politicians can behave in a corrupt manner and get away with it, then so can they, too?
I think we have to look no further than the political system if we want to find out why crime has escalated in this country over the past thirty or forty years that I have been observing matters. It appears to me that it even got worse after we became part of the global community!
I have never been very comfortable with the story that Manning was evicted from caucus because of a disagreement . Wasn't he running against Efford ?
I call this MY conspiracy theory .Couldn't Manning have been seen to be booted out , to make it look like he was the victim ? Wasn't there a big uproar at the time ,and you know as a people how we love the underdog .
Couldn't it all have been just an elaborate scheme to get the sympathy vote for Manning ?
Could it be that our people can only recognize a farce and not the truth ?
Yvonne Jones went through and is still fighting a horrendous battle with breast cancer , and just couldn't seem to garner support .
The whole Manning deal is only conjecture on my part , but , didn't he walk away with a big chunk of the vote???
