The next Prime Minister for the Country of Ontario-Quebec has arrived...

Update:

As predicted by Sue's Blog earlier today - and according to a VOCM news story:

Stephane and Danny talked turkey on the Lower Churchill with Dion saying - he would be very pleased to work with Newfoundland and Labrador and the province of Quebec, to try and reconcile the views of both provinces and move forward on the development of the Lower Churchill project.

and

Dion says the development would greatly benefit the entire country, pointing to our energy needs and the issue of climate change.

Stephane Dion is here - and he brings this message:

We will honour the Atlantic Accord - a promise Dion says that Stephen Harper broke.

I wonder can Stephane Dion read English? Evidence so far suggests he cannot.

For Stephane and cling-ons Siobahn Coady - Judy Foote - Walter Noel et al. - here's the promise the Prime Minister made:

We will remove non-renewable resource revenue from the equalization formula to encourage the development of economic growth in the non-renewable resource sectors across Canada.

Dion delivers safe - safe - safe message for Quebec and Ontario - usual crap for Newfoundland and Labrador.

So Stephane - what's your position on non-renewable resource revenues? Don't come here and tell us that you will live up to the promise that Harper did not make.

While your visiting with our Premier - don't forget to push Canada's energy objective - to remove the Lower Churchill power from Labrador and move it into Central Canada to help air-quality and energy shortages in Ontario. And true to form - don't forget to push that power through a Quebec owned transmission line. You have a Premier who is determined to solve the energy issues in Canada - while leaving our province without the industrially attractive hydro-power.

Sue ,Im going to say this out in the open.Loud and Proud.

Any Newfoundlander or Labradorian that does feel in his heart to have to vote Liberial in the next federal election,is a pure ,un-educated "FOOL".

And ,if the feds do decide to do what they want .Like they usually do.Then its us ,we are going to hear on Blogs and papers everywere on how poor Newfoundladnd and Labrador got Sr#@%# to the Planks again.

Do you see history re-preating itself here Sue.When Dion or whoever that Quebec guy is decides to screw somone again ,who do you think that they are going to turn too.Ontario,Quebec, maybe poor P.E.I is going to be next.I think we as a nation have to smarten the hell up!!!

Hey what are we going to do next rip the Flags off the poll for them to relise that we mean buissness. They have to relise that some of us just dont care about Confederation, and have come to the conclusion that Confederation is not what it seems.

We are now here for Home and Heart ,so something has to take a back seat.I think that its time for Canada to sit at the "Kiddy" table to eat, because we as Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are starving to death for a bit of Sunday Dinner.

Dion didn't make the promise, so why are you trying to pin Harper's lie on him?

Dion's promising to do what he already supported.

I don't agree with you about hydro power either. Sell it to the mainlanders and make money off them. We don't have to seel it all, just selel the stuff we don't use otherwise who's going to pay to build it?

I am not pinning anything on Dion other than he is talking about honouring the Accord - as Harper promised.
Nobody is talking about the Accord. Does Dion have an opinion on the removal of non-renewable resource revenues from the equalization formula.
He can't do that - he will offend Quebec.
As for selling the mainland the power - to make money off them. They will be making the money and keeping the industrial jobs - and employing our people.
Keep the power in Labrador.

To put 2800 MW's of power in perspective - there is now an aluminum smelter being built which will use 2000 MW's all on its own. Get the picture?

"as Harper promised." - Sue ,its just that!!!How many times do we have too hear it .The same promise ,over and over and over, befor we get the common sence to act on our own better judgement.lol.

OH my God ,no wonder Sue they call us "Newfie"If you dont laught at it your onlying going to CRY!!!!

We must be listening to different news stories because I haven't hear anything saying Dion will do what Harper didn't do.

You sound like you mean Harper's promise in the election not the changes he made to the Accord. Dion was talking about the 2005 Accord, wasn't he?

SO where's the 2000 MW smelter?

Sue Kelland-Dyer said...

Abu Dhabi - and SNC-Lavalin has a major engineering piece in it.

Ok, so that's being built in Abu Dhabi.

But you didn't answer my question about Dion and Harper. Dion talked about the deal martin and Williams got, not Harper's promise.

So why are you saying Dion is confused?

Sue Kelland-Dyer said...

Did you watch the News? Your leader said and the Harper promise - he was talking about protecting the Accord. This is not an Accord issue! Where does Dion stand on removing non-renewable resource revenues from the equalization formula? That is what Newfoundland and Labrador wants. He won't promise it - because it hurts Quebec. Simple.

"He won't promise it - because it hurts Quebec" - And there you have it ,in Black and White.Thats what I love about your Blog Sue,straight to the point and No BS.

"That is what Newfoundland and Labrador wants."

You now speak for the whole province and everyone in it?

When did Danny quit?

Sue Kelland-Dyer said...

I'm sorry - that's what Danny says he wants.
