What's in a Map? Quite a bit it appears!

Okay Kathy - here's a question - are you all over this boundary issue?

We all know that Hydro Quebec is in the process of developing the Romaine River. In order to do that of course they had to begin an environmental process with the feds.
In the image the Romaine is the one next to the Q in "Quebec". Follow the River north to the large lake you see which is Lac Norman - Lake Norman. The orange line represents the Labrador - Quebec border.

Quebec is proposing to build 4 dams on the river and produce 1500 MW's of Power (I'm sure Dean is following this so far). Look at the map again and see how the river flows.

When Hydro-Quebec registered the project with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for the process of assessment and environmental review they provided a map to the feds highlighting the impacted area.

In March of 2004 - Hydro-Quebec submitted a "Synthesis document presenting planned facilities".

To see the submission hit the CLICK HERE below. After bringing up the document which is in French - go to page 5 and view the map submitted and accepted by the Federal Government. Further in the lower right hand corner of the large map there is a scaled down map wherein you will see a box of the overall impact area. You will note that if our Border is used our land is in this area - however the Quebec border is used and acknowledged thereby taking us out of the picture.

Are we all over this Minister Dunderdale? Minister Ottenheimer? Premier?
Should we wait for more?

Quebec expects sanction in 2008 with power generation by 2011-12.
What dams or reservoirs will we be creating in the area?

Do you remember any of this Deano?

By the way Privy Council ruling aside - this border remains one of the largest borders in the world not surveyed. UN DEMARCATED - Border undefined.
