SCHOOL'S OUT day 1

Well Randy was greeted today by calls from MHA Charelene Johnson and Minister Tom Osbourne.

What are these two up to?

Tom talked about the wonderful poacher program for inland waters - you know the one we provide even though the feds are responsible for it. They make the rules but we must enforce. We will talk about that issue another time. Anyway Tom's call comes on the heels of information telling us some major salmon rivers in the province are showing poor numbers - some are down almost 40%. I noticed Tom pointed out we had the best salmon resource in the world - but he did not point out the latest stats which are very disconcerting. What's up with that Tom?

Charlene called to answer a question on open-line posed by a constituent. The question was on the disastrous RMS experiment. Charelene says they decided to try it as a pilot but if they could not make it work it would be off the table. Number 1 Charlene do you remember that your government said it would not introduce RMS unless the union agreed to it. Ooops. Then there is the fact that people who were impacted by it including many of your own constituents told you it would not work. But whatever you gave it a try. Now here's the deal - the constituents of your district gave you a try when you first sought election. They wanted to see if you would represent them on important issues or if you would side with a party or leader. There you have it - you did not work out so I guess your name can be taken off the election table.

On a side note - one fellow called with a very real concern and one which people email me on all the time. They are not particularly happy with Danny but who else can they vote for? The man said Gerry Reid is not a leader - as Gerry apparently said he wished Wally Anderson would run again. Randy piped up and said you are convicting him (Wally). No Randy I have to say that the Auditor General has made the report - it has been accepted by government and the government is seeking repayment of the whopping amount. Whether or not he is criminally charged is not the issue for the voter - it's what the AG says the man owes the people because he overspent using our money.
