THE US House of Representatives today unanimously passed a resolution demanding Ottawa end the hunting of baby seals in Canada.
According to a news story in the Herald Sun in Australia - the American politicians are demanding that "...We call on the Canadian government to suspend the hunt in the waters off the East Coast of Canada now and forever," he said."
Another of the delightful comments from our American allies - "...Mr Lantos said this "inhumane practice is far beneath the dignity of the people of Canada".

My response to that is stop killing innocent children in IRAQ. Get out and stop sponsoring wars - arming global states and then attacking them as you change policy direction. While you are at it - stay out of our domestic affairs. Unless of course we can visit your slaughter houses for calves and lambs.....

I said it before and I'll say it again, major media miss the main story here, that is, how Animal Rights Activists groups haul the hide over the general public's eyes. Last year I do remember one national reporter alluding to tactics used by ARA's as being deceitful, but this isn't made newsworthy enough. It should be a given by now, and so much so that any claim of an inhumane hunt is simply seen to be misleading. I've read a number of reports written by international scientists which say that the methods used in the past and present are as humane and perhaps more than some animal culls. Pretty seals are the ticket to the Christmas type finance engines that keep many of these ARAs afloat year after year. If the seal hunt was inhumane I would support them, but the evidence says otherwise. What ignorance.
