A Poetic take on Rebuilding the Liberal Party

A Sue's Blog Contributor takes a poetic (in fun) look at rebuilding the Liberal Party.

TAKING THE SHORT-CUT.
================

Says, Gerry to Anna, Judy and John
Let's tackle the mare and we'll all get on,
With Danny's crew all in disgrace
It's goin' to be easy to win this Race.

Out to Port de Grave, and 'way beyond,
We'll take the short cut 'cross Tickle Cove Pond,
Now that John and Roger are all made up,
No question about regainin' the cup.

But God be praised, what a mortal sin,
The ice on that pond is awfully thin;
Not since subjected to Danny's strafe,
Has new ice formed that's anyways safe.

On the same old sled with the same old mare ,
That's what they're betting will get them there,
And the load not lessened with ------- on board
"Tis plain to see what they're heading toward.

Though sad it is, such a sorry end,
For "democracy" 'tis a real Godsend.
Relieved of that tired and motley crew.
Maybe then the Liberals can start anew.
