Stephenville - Labrador - and the Great Northern Peninsula deserve better!
Come on people - apparently the only difference between Iceland and Newfoundland and Labrador is the ability of our politicians to attract industry using our natural advantages.
"Thomas Knutzen, communications officer at Norsk Hydro, said Iceland is in an important location for aluminum smelters, midway between Europe and America."
Is it reasonable that we could remove the word Iceland from the quote above and replace it with Newfoundland and Labrador? Of course it is.
The considerations that will be used for the determination of a fifth smelter for Iceland include energy and raw material.
Each and every time - Iceland is able to sell industry on the use of cheap renewable energy - each and every time we fail or do not even try.
Stephenville - Labrador - and the Northern Peninsula deserve better representation and we as a people deserve to benefit from our natural wealth.
Our history has proven that our leaders lacked vision - and today with the failure of this government to attract enough industrial interest to use 2000 MW's of power - the lack of vision continues.

Where does Stephenville or the Northern Peninsula get cheap industrial power from?
From Quebec of course...
Sue - I'm sure I'm not the only one when I say you should run for the PC's or Liberal's and become a leader with vision. I remember the N&L party and that was good but what about a party that would put you in the decision making chair?
