So Hydro wants an increase...

The real cost of oil - no real energy plan - Abitibi's Departure -
and Newfoundland Power

Sue's Blog told you it was coming when the Premier got his numbers all wrong when talking to media a week or so ago.
Such is the cost of oil prices through the roof - and losing industry such as Abitibi in Stephenville.

Now the Premier wants us all to rely on oil and gas (thermal generation) in the future. Give it up Danny - if our power mix was increased to virtually 100% hydro/renewable like Quebec -Manitoba - and BC our rate increases would be nominal.
Now can you imagine the price if we were privatized? Add another 20-25% on that!
Best thing we can do on the Island is buy out Newfoundland Power - remove the middle man and try to increase hydro potential.
In Labrador - all hydro!
Don't let Danny export our future - Hydro for Newfoundland and Labrador - and keep your grubby hands off our crown jewel - no more private wind!

Now the corporate customers get a break - designed to protect them from Government's failure to keep Abitibi in Stephenville.
Now we will pay the power bill and lose the jobs - BRAVO Premier - keep up the good work.
