Planning in 2007
Building in 2008
Refining in 2011
The markets are staying up and refining capacity in North America remains low - so despite the Irving expansion in New Brunswick - the Eastern Region should get this processing facility.
With numbers like 3000 people employed to build the facility and 750 to operate it - we should be able to bring more Newfoundlanders and Labradorians home.
This development will be great news for the area - now let's see if they past the Canadian environmental process.
This 4 BILLION dollar plant is a step in the right direction - now we need some attention in Port au Port - Labrador - and the Northern Peninsula.
If we use our energy from the Lower Churchill - in this province - we can see the rebirth of our Province and our future.
Of course all of it rests ultimately on what the Premier does with the fishery - and whether he has the courage to take on the feds to preserve and grow this back-bone industry.
The problem is our Premier and his buds are really hung-up on oil and gas but - sadly - disinterested in everything else.
We also have to be ever weary of "individuals" making a killing under this government.
