Researchers gauge impact of open-ocean farming
Two Hawaii-based aquaculture companies will participate in a $400,000 (€314,916) federal research project to quantify scientifically the impacts their open-ocean growing systems are having on wild fish populations and the environment.
The mackerel fishing season should have been well underway by now, but because the Japanese are now able to fish their own mackerel, Norwegian fishermen, producers, and exporters have been left wondering what the future holds.
