Bill wants to know what the equation is...

So Bill Rowe wants to know how to create an economy and keep our children home.
Okay...
1. Sue the federal government for the destruction of the social and economic health of rural Newfoundland and Labrador.

2. Force the feds hand on the 8 1/2% ownership of Hibernia - turn it over to Newfoundland and Labrador.

3. Renegotiate the 10% royalty the feds are soon going to take on Hibernia and turn it over to Newfoundland and Labrador. (Remember the offshore resources are supposed to be treated as if they were on land and we are supposed to be the primary beneficiary)

4. Negotiate the cost of a transmission line to the Island and various locations in Labrador with the feds and make them pay the lions share - for failing to use the Constitution and protect our interests when we wanted to wheel power through Quebec.

5. Go after our share of federal jobs (10%) because the artificial geography of Canada is made up of 10 provinces which each deserve an equal share of these jobs and crown corporations. There is no need to use per-capita distribution for Canada as an entity. (the share to be reduced to provide for the territories as well)

6. Then with all the funds properly collected from the feds, fund the development of the Lower Churchill and attract industry to Newfoundland and Labrador - do not export it to grow other economies. This + the increase in federal presence will take care of our current population and probably double it - this in turn will cause further growth.
