UNDER PROPOSED NEW RESETTLEMENT PROGRAM

Excuse me Premier, don't mean to upset the summer festivities but while you were on your equalization visit with your fellow Premiers, Tory MP Brian Jean was proposing a federal government program to move unemployed Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to Alberta.

Where were our members? Well rookie Scott was playing for the home team in France as our well seasoned representative on the seal harvest. He just voted with the Tories on Afghanistan right? Well a trip for a trip, his sounds more fun though.

Did not see anything Bill Matthews said, he was busy doing PR for Hearn. Byrne I guess was in the middle of taking flack for asking for equality for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, as his past government saw fit to do nothing. Does not make what he says wrong though.

I don't know where Todd is.

Fabian is attached to Loyola somewhere, preferring to celebrate the recreational food fishery partial reopening than dealing with the loss of the fish plant in St Joseph's.

Norman Doyle is retired as it relates to Newfoundland and Labrador issues. Can't blame the fellow he donates his salary to charities. You get what you pay for or what he keeps of what you pay for.

New Brunswick MP's Andy Scott and Jean-Claude d'Amours called the proposal ridiculous and Nova Scotian MP Geoff Regan, although partially responsible for the economic collapse in the region from his fishy policy, condemned it nevertheless.

Mr. Premier, they are laughing at us. We are their joke. You know that promise you have in writing from Harper on removing all non-renewables from equalization? Jim Flaherty has clarified that it was a preference not a promise. When are the flags coming down?

We have a bunch of mega millionaires meeting in New Brunswick to technically take over the operations of government in the new Atlantica and our very own mega millionaire is not saying a word.

The fellow who started all this, Brian Jean has Fort McMurray in his district. You think he's starting to take care of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians better than our own government?
That's not hard is it when our Premier is letting rural livyers leave on mass to avoid having to find proper solutions to our problems.

And by the way Doug House, your academic experiment is now being challenged by an Irish delegation that came to learn from our fishery experience but ended up educating us on the folly of "rationalization" of the industry. Danny; will you please replace this man before we find ourselves living a tragedy we cannot reverse?


Let's look at some definitions of "rationalization" to see what they could possibly be talking about.

rationalization
systematic organization; the act of organizing something according to a system or a rationale.

This cannot be it as there is no system or rationale developed or for that matter ever used in the fishery.

rationalization
the organization of a business according to scientific principles of management in order to increase efficiency.

As there is no reliable science or management, this definition does not fit.

rationalization
(mathematics) the simplification of an expression or equation by eliminating radicals without changing the value of the expression or the roots of the equation.

This does have some potential as they like to remove the so-called "radicals" however they are changing the roots of the equation. That is the upheaval of rural Newfoundland and Labrador.

rationalization
the cognitive process of making something seem consistent with or based on reason.

No this one does not work as the cognitive and consistant is missing.

rationalization
(psychiatry) a defense mechanism by which your true motivation is concealed by explaining your actions and feelings in a way that is not threatening.
