So Princess Warrior shows up at the annual Premier's address to the St. John's Board of Trade.
Like most Newfoundlanders and Labradorians - I was expecting that this little skit would end up on This Hour has 22 Minutes. I was however a little surprised that other media in attendance were able to get a full video of this and actually make it available before the actual broadcast.
Now remember your humour Mary - and how everything deserves a laugh.
Okay so - why was Mary in garb at the Board of Trade during a performance by the Premier?
We got to make light of the Auditor General's condemnation of the government's accountability, the unexplainable continued closure of the House of Assembly, and the Premier's weight loss. Clearly the first two have nothing to do with the third and clearly the first two are not funny.
Again why was Mary in garb at the Board of Trade?
According to the Telegram today Walsh is is reportedly developing material for a show she will perform in St. John’s in February.
Okay some really hilarious questions?
Is Mary Walsh political?
Does she attend Tory fundraisers?
Was she hired for the appearance yesterday?
Is the government in any fashion supporting the upcoming show? Will Nalcor be a sponsor?
Did you - the reader - feel relieved that the Auditor General's report was light-hearted?
Did you feel stupid about your level of concern that the House of Assembly remains closed?
All in fun right?
Maybe this performance should have been held at a $500 a plate PC fundraiser and not at the Board of Trade.
To add the biggest funny of it all - fundamentalist PC supporters began attacking Mary for "attacking" the Premier. Poor Kathy attacked by the Princess!
Signed
Queen Warrior - of the People
