So now the answer to Muskrat Falls "confusion" is Twitter - according to Jerome Kennedy?
This according to a story from VOCM news today.
First of all only those who follow Minister Kennedy can get the latest on the 6 billion dollar fiasco.
Then of course - one would have to be on Twitter to begin with or even own a computer.
Then what of those people who do not have access to high speed Internet?
Reporters are left to watch Twitter to see what the Minister is presenting regarding the "benefits" of the deal.
I suppose the marketplace can have a good look at it. Perhaps people with interest in energy projects might follow the Minister as he tries to sell the project to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
The time for real discussion is now. We need the House of Assembly opened. We need an all party committee to travel the province and hold public meetings. We need the two Opposition parties to take the lead on this file - ask the questions - demand debate - and further to insist on a referendum.
Dr. Locke is right when he says we do not need to be a slave to our past. What we need this time is the right for every voter to mark an X for or against the deal. In this way our people get the voice they did not have during the Upper Churchill. As with then and now - the Opposition is too quiet and we must not let 48 people make a decision that will affect three generations of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
Twitter fails! Let's go through the referendum process. What's the rush?
When listening to the radio, watching television or reading the newspapers about events in this province, there seems to be a missing link. One that bridges all that information together and provides a way for people to contribute, express or lobby their concerns in their own time. After-all, this is our home and everyone cannot fit in Lukie's boat and paddle their way to Upper Canada, nor should we!

Sue, it would certainly be a big step forward if the government were to put this project to a referendum...but I would not hold my breath! We both know it is a complex deal but the government keeps singing the same old song about the benefits, in spite of the many valid concerns people have brought forward.
These politicans are too arrogant to listen to anybody....that much is clear. But, could it be more sinister than that? I suspect there are powerful forces behind the scenes who desperately want the project to go ahead....not for the people's benefit but for the benefits of the select and chosen few. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but this whole thing just reeks of cover-up and cronyism. The problem is that we don't know all that much detail, other than the official spin, and that leaves too many unanswered questions.
Why the rush to have the PUB complete its report by March 31, when the delay was due to NALCOR's inability to provide them with necessary documentation to begin with? What underlying issues are spurring the government to rush that process? Why not a full debate and vote in the HOA?
I would like to know how each memeber votes and whether they would all toe the party line, if given the freedom to choose! If not, there is no democracy and that is sadly too obvious at this juncture!
I see the Cracker Jack style politicians are still practising the same type of government, as we have had to endure for 62 years.
I will go as far as to say we have never had any politician minding the shop for us, the electorate, for as long as we have been in this place. Why else would we have lost every one of our natural resources for the good of some other place that were developed over the past 62 year period. You would think that at least one contract would have turned out right. Anyone can give resources away, but it takes a negotiator to construct the type of contract that enriches our own environment with a rich economy that contains jobs and infrastructure.
