How to lie and make it okay. Harper takes lessons from Mulroney

Yesterday's election events revealed a new tactic by Stephen Harper. Lie - four years out.

Yes the leader of the Conservative/Reform/Alliance Party promised income splitting for some young families - as soon as the budget deficit was erased. Predicted to be four years out. In this way Harper can lie now and not have to pay later. You see Harper is a liar - but Canadians are getting used to that fact - and must really consider how they can vote for such a person.

Remember Mulroney and his income tax fiasco - running between the USA and Canada in and out of hotels, briefcases full of money, envelopes, safety deposit boxes - for all we know secret panels in a shoe. Mulroney proved that the passage of time - associated with cheating the system - ripping off Canadians seemed more palatable with the passage of time - and of course a really good expensive lawyer.

Then there was Harper's newly created and most recent lie - where he concocted something - he hoped would pacify Terry Milewski CBC - when he asked Harper yet again about his own plan to form a CO-A-LI-TION. Harper now says - I was not really going to form a CO-A-LI-TION - I was just trying to scare the Liberals by having them think I was. Once again - this lie - has become somewhat more palatable with the passage of time.

Do you remember last week? That's when Harper suggested that the opposition parties did not have to FORCE us into an election - no - Harper suggested the other parties could have gone to the Governor General and asked - can we form a CO-A-LI-TION?

The irony of Harper taking lessons from Mulroney is this; Harper exists because Canadians threw Mulroney and his party to the curb. Then like the recyclers Harper is not really fond of - we green Canadians recycled the lot to form the "new" Conservative Party. Then with the likes of Peter MacKay and our own Loyola Hearn they stabbed each other in the back so many times - there was a run on knives - that PC blood flowed out spilling integrity, honesty and trust.

If Harper wants to lie to Canadians - in an attempt to scare them - by suggesting the CO-A-LI-TION already exists - then let me add this; if Harper were ever to form a majority - the Reform Party not the Conservatives - would be running our country. That is something we all should be very afraid of.
