Please look and understand there are so many things we as people of Newfoundland and Labrador have not been told.

Thank you to Norm in Labrador for the link.
I also call on CBC again to air the program on Lower Churchill discussions with PASNY (Power Authority State of new York) during the Peckford days.
We really need the history on this project and now that energy is even more valuable be very careful what we do with our tremendous Lower Churchill.

Thanks Sue.
I'm pretty sure this province could use 'ALL' the Lower Churchill Power available from such a project without exporting any of it outside of NL.
The late Lawrence O' Brien, rest his soul, who was a Liberal MP & self-proclaimed Labrador seperatist in Ottawa, believed in the Adjacency principle & so do Labrador peoples. In other words, because this potential power is in our backyard we ought to be the primary benefinieries of it for all Labrador householders and industry that could be enticed here to use it.
Like you say and I agree, we must stop exporting our raw resources, stop now before it's 'ALL' gone.
ah yes Lawrence would agree
careful what you wish for sue.
alcoa in iceland doesn't seem like such a great deal now.
the imf owns their country thanks in part to that fandangle.
i think i'd rather stick to dealing with the devil we know than bringing that group in here.
Wolf, I believe Iceland is in trouble based on reliance on the American banking and investment situation during the crash. What is positive for that little country with a population significantly less than Newfoundland and Labrador is still standing. This is the same crisis that got the UK Spain Italy etc.
The reason they have survived at all is their independence and the wise use of the energy resources particularly hydro. Although Iceland has tremendous geo-thermal their large indiustries are run on hydro.
Same question if Iceland and other northern countries are homes to smelters using the local hydro power why has Labrador not benefitted the same way?
