Rogers cable 9 hosts love-in of the Fibre Optic Deal
While we give 15 million Ted Rogers reaches #4 on the Rich List

A few additional notes - fibre optical illusion related..

Rogers Cable 9 (Community Channel) has a program where they discuss the positives of the Fibre Optic deal with 3 supporters and nobody on the panel who was opposed or questioning the deal. That's right - Rogers is part of the alleged consortium - as yet unnamed.

During the program economist for hire - Wade Locke - pointed out that the benefits are "vague and intangible".

And now - Canada's Billionaire List hits the news and guess what?

Ted Rogers has moved from seventh to fourth on the "richest Canadian list" - weighing in at 4.54 BILLION. Maybe the Premier is right - this man can't afford to take such a risk in a "guaranteed" great project without the province contributing a 15 million investment.

Here's the top TEN list from CBC Newsworld

Here is the top 10 list of Canada's richest, according to Canadian Business:

  1. Thomson family – $24.41 billion
  2. Galen Weston - $7.1 billion
  3. Irving family - $5.45 billion
  4. Ted Rogers - $4.54 billion
  5. Paul Desmarais Sr. - $4.41 billion
  6. Jimmy Pattison - $4.35 billion
  7. Jeff Skoll - $3.93 billion
  8. Barry Sherman - $3.23 billion
  9. David Azrieli - $2.44 billion
  10. Fred and Ron Mannix - $2.38 billion
