Some wonderful Poetry entries for the contest

Sue's Blog in conjunction with Author Maura Hanrahan and Publisher Flanker Press is delighted to post the following new entries to our Contest and links to our past entries. Please keep them coming....

The first comes from George Andrews - Happy Valley-Goose Bay
Unfortunately I could not paste the beautiful Labrador Flag background submitted. I will work on that.

The Heart of the North, Labrador!

When your heart beats, theres that feeling inside,

It’s the fun and excitement that makes you feel alive.

As you stare upon the Green, White, and Blue,

The beats increase as you beam with pride.

It’s the pride of the People, future and past,

and the pride of the places that make memories last.

From the North to the South and from East to the West,

Each unique part of Labrador is simply the best.

For in each little corner are spun many tales,

No matter if about the cold, the road, the snow or even a whale.

The stories of hardship and lives being told,

Paint a picture of lifestyles of the brave and the bold.

The Big Land lies on the verge of greatness some say,

Although everyone wonders what price there will be to pay.

Rich in resources, like fish, wood, and ore,

We’re at the heart of the north, our great, beautilful and bountiful Labrador!
