Hydro Quebec 101 - Contract Awarded

Increased Transmission by 2009
Will we ever know who is lobbying for Lower Churchill Contracts?

One step closer to increased transmission capacity between Quebec and Ontario - as HQ awards the contract to ABB Ltd. in Switzerland.
International Herald Tribune has the story.

As Ontario and Quebec plan economic boom in industry - primarily from energy - we sit and try to find parties that will take the liquid gold (hydro) off our hands.
Has the Premier or government been lobbied on this?
Who knows - apparently the Act was not designed for such events - time to change the Act!
When Dean MacDonald can say that we have been open with this process - when the public knew nothing of it until the phone blackout - almost a year after the submission - and add that this was not lobbying - then we can be sure that anybody from any energy company that wants a piece of Lower Churchill can safely claim the same thing. We can know when the Premier wants us to know - not when the Act says we should know.

We've only just begun on this file!
Stay tuned.
