A case for Resignation

Minister Burke Resign

How many fiascoes can a Minister lead before that Minister calls it quits?

This is where Joan Burke puts out a News Release saying that the Federal Workplace Equity Office is closing.

A claim not supported by any federal or ministerial announcement - simply part of a program review. The media could not verify the announcement made.

This is where Joan Burke announces nothing about the Status of Women's Office closing when Federal Minister Bev Oda announces that it is.

The Minister also represents the region affected by the closure of the Abitibi paper mill in Stephenville - nothing there!

Here's where the Union voice RESIGNS from the community committee - dealing with the loss of the mill - over absolute frustration and non-support from government and the Minister.

If it was happening in Kathy Dunderdale's or Tom Rideout's District the results may have been different. Burke does not appear to have the Cabinet clout required to keep her district or women's issues on the priority list.
