A tentative deal in the Voisey's Bay strike is great news - now we can get on with investigating the real terms of the contract without the Premier and Minister playing politics with the deal.
The deal could be ratified as early as this week.
Now for the INCO wrap...
After basking in great nickel prices that seen the company playing around with the workers - INCO while predicting 610-630 in earnings for the third quarter - 2.66 to 2.75 a share - the company is predicting a drop in production for the same quarter from the projected 135 - 140 million pounds of nickel to 118 - 123 million pounds adjusted.
Time to start producing - for a demanding stainless steel sector and poorer performances from competitors. The strike had to end - as the production numbers can only be negative for so long.
