Craig did a fabulous job representing Newfoundland and Labrador. He is to be commended for his natual talent, his work ethic, and his commitment. He, like many young Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, epitomizes the exceptional future potential for our Province.
Craig handled himself with all the character of a seasoned musician and showed the pride of our people. In this day of technology - people in the industry know they have a success story in the making. He will make his way to national and international stages and entertain generations to come. Throughout the competition - the fact that Craig was 16 years old was presented as a handicap to his progression. The truth is that being discovered at 16 puts him well ahead of most of the top ten including the winner.
Further his rapport with established talent such as former Styx vocalist Dennis DeYoung and Roger Hodgson of Supertramp fame was telling. They immediately recognized the prize of a voice Craig has. The commentary from these music legends speaks volumes about Craig's potential.
As a mother, a Newfoundlander and Labradorian, and a music lover - Craig had no problem keeping me entertained with his tremendous vocals and interpretations. His ability to learn and grow from every experience will carry him through this blip in time - and allow him to succeed in his future endeavors. I hope he completes his education - hopefully in music - And I suggest under a full scholorship from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
