On one of the very few areas that I agree with Williams on - an equity position for our offshore - News out today shows the arrogance of the Chevron's of the world. The oil giants accuse the Premier of not playing fair by wanting all he has asked for. First what he has asked for is not enough - so fairness is not at play. What would the oil companies do if they found themselves in a winning position relative to the industry. They would grab the money and run - to hell with fairness. NOIA and others have a look at this story out of CNN Money this morning.
Chevron may avoid $1B in payments...
Read the story and let me know if you have changed your opinion on the demands of the Premier. Make them pay or leave it in the ground.
Now if the Premier would do the same for the fishery, forestry, agriculture, energy, and rural development - we could all rest easy.
