Learn from the Premier's Mistake

Yesterday and today Premier Williams has been ranting on the proposed changes to EQUALIZATION. The recommendations come from the Expert Panel on Equalization and Territorial Formula Financing for the Government of Canada.

I have already commented on the changes in the "Harp Harp Harper Away..." post. The Premier has good reason to rant and I support his outrage on this issue.

Today's Telegram features a story titled, "Report would erase Accord gains" by Rob Antle and Jamie Baker.

The story confirms my earlier statements that Quebec would be the primary beneficiary of such changes. The piece also deals with the Premier's regret that he remained fairly silent on this process of review until it was finished. Now that it is and the results, if adopted, may have horrendous consequences to our province Danny says, "We've kept our head down, and the payment we've got for that is that we've got hit over the heads with a sledgehammer by this report."

WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING TO THE FISHERY COMMUNITY !!!!!!!

If you keep your head down and don't make a fuss, whether under the guidance of a union rep, politician, and/or company official or from fear of repercussion from the same group, SPEAK NOW, or your SLEDGEHAMMER is coming. Our communities are disappearing and the silence is deafening.
