Can we be this Ignorant?

If we do not change course on the proposed Lower Churchill Development it will be seen in 10-15 years from now to be worse that the Upper Churchill.
There is not much info on protests to the Upper Churchill deal on record - but there will be plenty on this one.
If we do not stop the export of our hydro power - we will give away our future and nothing Danny does on the non-renewable oil and gas will change that. Danny can do anything he wants or can to improve our lot in Canada but all the gains will be lost if we export Lower Churchill Power.

The plants of processing of aluminum migrated recently from the traditional industrial centers of the USA, Europe, and Japan for new projects "greenfield" in the world in development, with access to the cheap electricity and low cost labor, the main motivations. Approximately a fourth of the global capacity of foundry of the aluminum still concentrate on North America, but the income of the USA fell in 50% since 1999. However, the production of China triplicate in the last decade, concentrating 20% of the world income, and the growth of the annual production of China of 18% means that soon it will cross the United States, becoming the producer world leader of primary aluminum. Europe counts with 16% of the global capacity of foundry, and the countries of the extinct Soviet Union total 13%.

Besides China, the largest expansion of the foundry of the aluminum next decade it is foreseen to happen in Brazil, Russia, Bahrain, Australia, India, Iceland, Venezuela, and Argentina. New important casters are also being planned at other countries including Malaysia, Iceland, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, Chile and Mozambique.

The above quote from a story on the Planet Save website

We can compete with our electricty as Iceland is doing successfully - if Danny really talked energy in Iceland we would have been told that exporting hydro-electric power is not recommended.
